Last week, our Kittyhawk team had the pleasure of hosting members of the ASM International Los Angeles Chapter for an in-depth overview and guided tour of our Garden Grove Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) facility. With a group of several dozen engineers and industry professionals in attendance, the event offered a valuable opportunity to share our commitment to advancing manufacturing quality across critical sectors.

ASM International is the world’s largest association of materials-centric engineers and scientists, dedicated to informing, educating, and connecting the materials community. Their local chapters (run entirely by volunteers) provide hands-on programming to foster networking and innovation. We were honored that the LA Chapter selected Kittyhawk as their November event host.

To ensure each attendee received a detailed look into our operations, the group was split into two sessions. The first involved a comprehensive walkthrough of the shop floor, highlighting how our team approaches every stage of the HIP process. Later, Kittyhawk leadership delivered an overview presentation, offering insight into Kittyhawk’s history, our expanded fleet of HIP vessels, and the industries we support, including aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, oil & gas, and commercial manufacturing.

Throughout the visit, our guests had the opportunity to ask questions, observe our work, and see firsthand the level of dedication, precision, and pride our team brings to every part that enters our shop. It was a pleasure to connect with engineers and materials professionals who share our passion for advancing the future of materials science.

“It was genuinely wonderful to see the full workflow behind a process I had only read about. Thank you to Brandon Creason and Gary Deems for welcoming us into their facility and walking us through how they approach their work. It was clear their team provides a level of care, craftsmanship, and pride to each part that goes through their shop. Their commitment to their clients is genuinely impressive.” — Lexy Murphy (via LinkedIn)

Kittyhawk remains committed to supporting educational outreach and strengthening collaborations within the materials and manufacturing ecosystem. We look forward to continuing our work with industry partners and welcoming future groups interested in learning more about Hot Isostatic Pressing.
